John Denver became a star thanks to the folk songs he wrote, most of which were situated in Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's national anthems to his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado.
